My name is Melissa Cassario and I am starting my second year here at Durant Road Elementary School. I have been teaching in Wake County for a total of 15 years. I was fortunate to be able to take six years off in the middle of my career to stay home with my two beautiful children, Abby who is in high school and Jake who is here at DRES. I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Georgia where my concentration was in voice.
I love to sing and have performed with the North Carolina Master Chorale where I had several solos including some with the North Carolina Symphony. I sing for weddings and had the priviledge to sing at Duke Chapel not too long ago.
I have lots of family that live here in the Raleigh area and a one eyed dog named Maisie. She looks like a pirate!
